Irish Poker Rakings: July Update.
It’s time for our monthly update on the top performers in Irish poker tournaments courtesy of Irish Poker Rankings
Last month Francis McCormack had clung on to the top stop for quite some time despite not having scored any points since March 22nd.
The Vultures have been circling however and it’s Paul Smallwood who has come out on top in June having narrowly missed out on a Vegas package at the Atlantis WSOP super satellite and a 5th place at the Westbuy end of month tournament which has given Paul the majority of his points this year.
Up to second from seventh is Alan Kelleher who made three final table’s in june including a win in the €500 PLO event at the Macau’s short-handed festival.
Despite the attractions of the World Series Main Event there are no less than thirteen ranking events in July.
Irish Rankings Update: McFadden up to second.
After a busy month on the Poker Calendar, April saw Keith McFadden close in on Francis McCormac’s lead in the Irish poker rankings with a €4,400 cash in the Irish Open’s €1500 side event.
McCormac has held on to his lead which he took in March despite not cashing in a tournament last month thanks to an equally dry spell from most of his closest rivals.
Aside from the Irish Open, big scores were notched up in other significant events around the country. Mark Coyne took down the Cue Club of Killarney’s 10th anniversary event for an undisclosed amount and Armands Armani won the Westbury Club’s monthly €250 game for €5,500.
May provides opportunities for players to rack up further points in the form of two festivals of poker. Poker Ireland holds a festival this bank holiday weekend with €300, €200 and €100 buy in tournaments respectively.
The following weekend is the very popular JP Poker Masters with a €1500 main event, a €750 NLH side event and also a €250 Omaha event.
Good luck to all chasing down big scores this May.

Rankings update: Francis McCormack out in front.

In the first week of every month Irish Poker News Headlines will bring you the most up to date standings in the Irish rankings courtesy of irishpokerrankings.com as well as key results and the biggest movers from the previous month.
Rob Taylor made two final tables at the Eglington Team event and took the lead from European Deepstack II champion Francis McCormack only to lose it the following weekend when McCormack took third at the Touch Ireland €500 charity event at the Fitzwilliam Card Club, in Dublin. The event was won by Theresa Joyce who did well to deafeat the highly experience Tom Finneran Heads Up.
March was a relatively quiet month in terms of major events with local monthly tournaments providing most of the points up for grabs. Martin Silke took down the €320 Eglington Monster Monthly for €4125 but still failed to break into the top ten and lies in 12th overall and James McManus moved up to 5th with a win at the Fitzwilliam €250 end of the month game.
Thnigs are likely to change dramitcally this month with the Irish open festival, clearly the biggest event of the year, offering big scores to all final table finishers.
