dtdlogoDusk til Dawn in Nottingham, the only dedicated poker venue in the UK, had a massive overlay of £56,000 on their £250,000 guaranteed Grand Slam Main Event. The £1,000 buy in event attracted just 194 players on Wednesday, the same day that the WSOP kicked off in Las Vegas.

Only 160 poker players ventured to Nottingham for the start of the tournament, which began at 2pm. The £90,000 overlay at the time enticed the other 34 players to make their way to the DTD cardroom and registered themselves up until 8pm. The deep structure meant that they only lost about 450 chips for every hour they’d missed.

The club, which also has an online poker room, also had a big overlay on their 50-seat guaranteed satellite online which failed to meet its guarantee.

Only 88 players made it to Day 2 of the Grand Slam event on Thursday and the 34 players that survived returned on Friday, Day 3, to compete against each other in the excellent value tournament.
